Pelindo again received two cruise ship visits simultaneously on Thursday (03/11). The 228 meters Norwegian Flag Cruise Ship, MV. Viking Orion, berthed on East Wharf, and MV. Queen Elizabeth in the 293,84 meters with Bermuda Flag anchored in the Outer Buoy of Port of Benoa. The arrival of these two cruise ships couldn't be separated from the cooperation of all stakeholders in Port of Benoa. All of them start from the Port of Authority, Pelindo, as Port Operator, Custom, Immigration, Quarantine, Security Officer, Tourism Service, and also from the Cruise General Agents, with the tour excursion arrangements managed by Destination Asia. Good coordination makes the cruise ship services operate smoothly. Tourists and crews who arrived were greeted with a dance accompanied by Bali's signature musical instruments.
Also, they were directly welcomed by the General Manager of PT Pelindo Port of Benoa, a team from the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investments Affairs, members of Indonesia House of Representatives Mr I Gde Sumarjaya Linggih, and other stakeholders of Port of Benoa before continuing the tour around the Bali Island. The arrival of two cruise ships carrying passengers in large numbers can jack the wheels of the tourism economy in Bali with the passengers' spending on tourist outlets and centres. Thus, all parties will feel a multiplier effect from the presence of the cruise ship, said Mr Ali Sodikin, CEO of PT Pelindo Subregional Bali Nusra.
